Questions I ask:
- Who is considered an “authority” in international climate negotiations and why
- How do international climate processes interact with other actors on non-state scales (e.g. cities and regions)?
- What are the unintended (positive and negative) social consequences of international climate agreements?
Why I study this:
I also have a strong interest in international environmental politics, particularly processes related to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, international environmental norms, and the establishment of authority (moral, epistemological, and political) in international processes. I have worked with several organizations affiliated with the UNFCCC process and have attended several international negotiation sessions, including UNFCCC COP13 in Bali, Indonesia.
